This was a solo project, it was created using Glyphs Mini. My main role in this project was to design and create an entire font.
Description:
This was a project for a font design class. MR position geometric is the font proudly displayed on my website, as well as the text you are currently reading! The full name of this font MR Position Geometric Sans but will be referred to as MR Position for short. When creating MR Position, my main goal was to create a font that works as both a readable font, as well as a display font with a unique style. I learned a lot of techniques in Font design class allowing font to be readable, while keeping its distinct style. I made sure to Adjust the weight of each letter’s strokes to have it look consistent even at different sizes. I also manually adjust the vertical position of each letter to make each letter look consistent, some letters will look higher or lower, even if they are at the same level as every other letter. M stands for Medium, the general weight of the font, and R stands for rounded, which was the general look of each letter. The title of the font is a play on the words “Mr. Position”, which is a nickname I received from my peers, and I wanted to include a bit of my personal life in this work. This font was created for anyone looking for a futuristic looking font, without sacrificing the readability of their text.
